World Kid Lit LIVE

World Kid Lit LIVE is a series of online panel discussions involving authors, translators, publishers, editors, academics and literary professionals who work in the field of literature for young people in languages that are less represented in English translation.

We have kicked off our 2021 series with this insightful discussion on Central European Literature for Young Readers. If you missed this fascinating discussion, it is available now on our Facebook page and our YouTube channel. Watch this space details of for our next World Kid Lit LIVE session.

Hosted by Marcia Lynx Qualey (ArabLit) and managed by Mohini Gupta (Mother Tongue Twisters), our first two panels with publishers and translators took place during #WorldKidLitMonth 2020. Following on from this success, World Kid Lit LIVE has developed to facilitate language and region-specific discussion between different people working with children’s literature.

Following on from our successful panel on literature in Arabic, we have exciting plans to expand this series in 2021 focussing on Indian languages and African languages among others.

“The response shows that you have tapped into a strong need in the Arabic speaking world and that there is lack of opportunities to debate the topic.”

Alexandra Büchler, Literature Across Frontiers
