The 2022 list: children’s and YA books in translation

Every year we in September we celebrate World Kid Lit Month!

To help you find books from around the world to read and share in September, we’ve been busy compiling our annual list of translations into English for young readers.

It’s a work in progress and you can help us by sending us book details. Please send any corrections and additions to us via this Google form. Thank you!

We make this list every year, with the help of our friends at Outside In World, and many publishers and translators who send us details of forthcoming books.

Where possible we #namethetranslator and list the country and language the book originated in, before this English edition (e.g. [Spanish, Argentina] which means it was first published in Spanish, in Argentina). We try to include the publication date for books out later this year.

In 2021, we listed over 250 translations, including picture books, chapter books, middle grade, young adult and graphic novels. So far for 2022, we have around 150 titles, but we’re adding new titles all the time thanks to readers’ input.
