Today, BookRiot posted our list of “100 Great Children’s Books in Translation” for #WorldKidLit Month.

While it’s a list of beautiful books, it’s also immediately evident that there are gaps: Turkish children’s literature (missing!), Eastern European children’s literature (where are you?), literature in the major languages of the Indian subcontinent (only one?).

Over the next weeks, we will be hunting down great children’s books from these languages and more.

In the meantime, enjoy the first 100.
